Fixed Velocity LLC ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Gentle Rival mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

By using Gentle Rival, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and profile photo. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email from those services.

Health & Fitness Data: With your explicit permission, we collect fitness data from connected devices and platforms, including:

• Step counts, distance, and activity data from Apple HealthKit
• Workout and activity data from Garmin Connect
• Heart rate and other health metrics relevant to challenge verification

Payment Information: We use Stripe to process payments. We do not store your full credit card number, bank account details, or other sensitive financial information on our servers. Stripe handles all payment data in accordance with PCI DSS standards.

Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with the Service, including challenges created, challenges joined, app features used, and general engagement metrics.

Device Information: We may collect device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and crash data to improve app performance.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
• Verify fitness challenge completion using wearable device data
• Process payments, stakes, and payouts for challenges
• Detect and prevent fraud, cheating, and abuse
• Send you notifications about challenges, results, and account activity
• Provide customer support
• Comply with legal obligations

Health Data Usage

Your health and fitness data is used exclusively for challenge verification and displaying your progress within the app. We treat health data with the highest level of care:

• Health data is never sold to third parties
• Health data is never used for advertising or marketing purposes
• Health data is not shared with data brokers or analytics companies
• You can disconnect your fitness devices and revoke access at any time through the app settings or your device's health app permissions

AI-Powered Tools & Systems

Gentle Rival uses AI-powered tools for app development and quality assurance. AI systems are not used to process, analyze, or make automated decisions based on user health, fitness, or activity data received from connected devices including Garmin. Garmin device-sourced data is not shared with, processed by, or made available to any third-party AI or external data processing services. All health and fitness data from connected devices is used solely as described in this policy for challenge verification and personal health metric display. Any future changes to AI usage within the Service will be announced and reflected in this policy.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

• With Other Users: Your display name, profile photo, and challenge-related activity (such as progress and results) are visible to other participants in your challenges
• Service Providers: We work with trusted third parties who assist in operating our Service, including Stripe (payments), Supabase (data infrastructure), Twilio (SMS notifications), and Tremendous (rewards fulfillment)
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or government request
• Safety: We may share information when we believe it is necessary to protect the safety, rights, or property of our users or the public

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL), secure authentication, row-level security policies on our database, and PCI-compliant payment processing through Stripe. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Challenge history and transaction records are retained for legal and financial compliance purposes. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, the right to request deletion of your data, and the right to opt out of the sale of personal information. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Features involving real money stakes require age verification. If we learn that we have collected information from a user under 18, we will promptly delete that information.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy within the app and updating the "Last Updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
